According to their spokesperson Michael Nato and their chairman ,John Walele, they are not going to hold the demonstrations to defend the Mombasa cement reputation. They have taken sides with the citizens as their plight is what made them call for the peaceful demonstrations.
It is a few weeks since the Mombasa County government issued a notice to the Mombasa Cement to stop paying for people's hospital and mortuary expenses at the Coast general Referral Hospital.
Their main agenda is to protest in representation of the Mombasa residents ,who were beneficiaries of the Mombasa Cement funding programme.
In addition, the vocal Mombasa activists have acquired, with proof, all the legal documents and approvals from the local authorities. They have also confirmed that no threat is posed on the citizens who will participate in the demonstration.
