This event was meant to appreciate the efforts and the need to improve the lives of women in the said constituencies. The theme of this event was digital innovation and technology for gender equality.

This event involved a walk from Bomu hospital through Magongo Mwisho and Muranga area in Changamwe constituency. The walk was flagged off by the Port-Reiz ward MCA, the office of Bomu hospital and Issa Omar. As a champion for the development of women, He notes that it is important, the society acknowledges the steps that women have taken, to free themselves from being vulnerable.  Issa informs of the financial support that women groups and individuals receive from his office, which in turn helps to boost their businesses. He appreciates the support and turnout of the partners who made the event a success.

The guest of honor who graced this event was the chairperson of Mombasa Women Empowerment, Honorable Amina Abdallah. She addressed important issues such as strategies of women development and financial supremacy in support of women. She also talked of the importance of ensuring digital literacy for the women as it is important in this developing competitive world.

She came with lots of good news to the women such as the first free ambulance for the expectant women and her new vocational training institute for women perusing to develop in the industrialization sector. In addition to this she has a three-year rehabilitation and mental illness center which has improved lives of people around Changamwe, Jomvu and Mombasa as a whole.

The county women’s day shall be officially celebrated in Mwakirunge on 8th of March 2023
